Working principle

The needle puncture extrusion tester is a professional material mechanical testing equipment that tests materials by puncture and pressure to evaluate their quality and reliability. During the needle puncture test, the equipment will penetrate the material with a high-temperature resistant steel needle (such as a steel needle with a diameter of 5~8mm) at a certain speed (such as 25±5mm/s) from a direction perpendicular to the material (or battery plate), and the penetration position is usually close to the geometric center of the punctured surface. After the steel needle stays in the material, its safety performance is evaluated by observing the reaction of the material (or battery) within a period of time (such as 1 hour), such as whether it catches fire, explodes or leaks. During the extrusion test, the equipment will apply a certain pressure and deformation force to evaluate the deformation ability and compressive resistance of the material.

Main purpose

The needle puncture extrusion tester is widely used in many fields, especially in battery safety performance testing. Here are some of the main uses:

Battery safety testing: The needle puncture extrusion tester is mainly used to test the safety performance of automotive lithium batteries, power batteries, storage batteries, electric vehicle batteries, etc. By simulating extreme situations such as internal short circuits and external extrusion of the battery, observe whether the battery catches fire, explodes or leaks, etc., to ensure the safety of the battery in actual use.

Material strength and durability testing: In addition to battery safety testing, the needle puncture extrusion tester can also be used to test the strength and durability of various materials. For example, it can be used to test metal sheets and body parts in automobile manufacturing to evaluate their strength and durability; it can also be used to test building materials such as steel bars and concrete to determine the maximum pressure and deformation they can withstand.

Electrical industry application: In the manufacture of line towers and cable racks, the needle puncture extrusion tester can ensure that they can withstand the influence of extreme weather and harsh environments by testing the materials, thereby ensuring the safe and stable operation of power facilities.

The needle puncture extrusion tester is a powerful and widely used testing equipment that plays an important role in battery safety performance testing, material strength and durability testing, and the electrical industry.
